Hans Jacob Frydenlund is presently the Norwegian Ambassador to India. Before arriving in India, he was the Director for UN Policy in the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He has been Press Spokesman for International Development in the Ministry. Frydenlund has served in Chile, at the Norwegian Mission to the European Union in Brussels, at the Norwegian Mission to the United Nations in New York, and has been the Norwegian Representative to the Palestinian Authority. He has worked for thirteen years in different capacities with conflict resolution in Africa. Frydenlund was born in 1959 and grew up in Oslo. He is an economist by education.
